Don Bosco Central School Angamaly, a Catholic Minority Institution, is run by the Salesians of Don Bosco, founded by St. John Bosco (1815 - 1888). He was a priest of the Catholic Church, an eminent educationist who hailed from Italy. He came to the rescue of the poor, disadvantaged youth of his time with his novel method of educating them. He based his education on the three great principles of reason, religion and loving kindness.

The salesians of Don Bosco are present in 132 countries, in five continents across the globe. Through a global network of educational and social service organizations, which include 15 universities, 110 institutions of higher education and thousands of schools and social development centres. In view of its reach and expertise in the field of education, it caters to over 15 million young people and the Salesian Congregation enjoys consultancy status at the United Nations.

In India, the Salesians of Don Bosco have over 500 Educational Institutions. Its services are offered through 41 colleges, over 100 technical schools, and a large network of high schools and scores of non-formal technical and agricultural training centres spread across the country, covering the entire spectrum of social development including literacy programs, shelters for street children and rehabilitation and relief operations. The Government of India has recognized the Salesians of Don Bosco as the largest non-governmental provider of technical education in the country.

Don Bosco Central School was establised in June 2005. It is part of this great net work of Institutions, under the Administration of Bangalore Province.

The system of education that he envisioned aims to create generations of young men and women who are intellectually competent, morally upright, socially committed, spiritually inspired and devoted to their country and the world. This system brings together the Educators and youngsters in a family experience of trust and dialogue.

Don Bosco Central School, Bosco Nagar, Angamaly - 683 572, Kerala is permanently affiliated to the Council for the India School Certificate Examinations (Affiliation No.KE-116). This is a Minority Educational Institution within the meaning of section 2 (g) of the National Commission for Minority Education Institutions act 2004. Consequently it is a Christian Minority Educational Institution covered under article 30 of the Constitutions of India.

The responsibility of running this school rests upon the House Council of the Angamaly Don Bosco Society.
