Don Bosco Central School Angamaly celebrates it's 20th Annual Day

Don Bosco Central School, Angamaly celebrated its 20th Annual Day on 24th January, 2025 at 6.00 pm. The function was inaugurated by Major Ravi, a Retired officer of the Indian Army, Former National Security Guard Commando, Film Director and Actor. The School band with a colourful uniform and lively steps made its reappearance as it escorted the chief Guests and other dignitaries to the stage. Fr. Joseph Elavanal, the Rector and Manager welcomed the gathering and the Deputy Chairperson of the Angamaly Municipality Mrs. Sini Manoj presided over the program. In his inaugural speech, Major Ravi exhorted the students that hard work& determination is the key to success. The other dignitaries included Smt. Reetha Paul and Mr. Benny Moonjely, the Ward councillors, Fr. James Puthenparambil the Principal, Fr. Prince Puthanangady, the Vice Rector, Fr. Jilson Erikattu, the Administrator and Vice principal and Mr. Jinoy Jose PTA President The Chief Guest presented the awards to the toppers of standard X, XII & State Level Award Winners in sports for the year 2024-2025. Kum. Athena Sarah Laiju bagged Fr. Joseph Onnupalathingal award & a Star Performer cash prize for highest scorer in English ICSE Board Exam. Master Benzo Benno, the topper of ISC, was presented a memento & cash prize. Master Aron Sijo was awarded a cash prize for highest scorer in maths. Kum. Sona Mariya Siby & Master Kevin Benny were awarded certificate from the council for the apex scorers in computer ICSE Board Exam. The retiring staff, Ms. Toly KD, Ms. Jaya Vinod & Ms. Saritha Sivan, were honoured with the mementos. The Champions of National and State Level Athletic Meet & Roller Skating Hockey were honoured that day. The winners were: Heron Jinoy, the Gold medallist in Roller Skating Hockey, Ganga D. Nair, Silver cadet in Roller Skating Hockey, Neeharika Bipin, the Bronze medallist in Roller Skating Hockey, Joshua Jose Antony and Thobith Jose Antony, Bronze medalists in Roller Skating Hockey, Franjo Stephan, Gold medallist in Roller Skating Hockey, Afiya Nazrine, Gold Medalist Sub Junior Judo National Championship held in Pune and Gold Medalist in Sub Junior State Judo Championship in Thrissur. Nivedita Rajesh who won the 2nd position in discuss throw in the State level Athletic Meet and participated in the National Level Athletic Meet held in Telangana. Vijay Krishna who won the 3rd positon discuss throw in the State level Athletic meet. A spectacular musical concert ensued further enthralled the audience. The Don Bosco Music Academy appeared on the stage with its maiden performance. The instrumental performance on keyboard by Don Rinson and Vaishnav K. S mesmerized everyone. The stunning solo song performances by Andriya Elsa Biju & Merin Mariya Shibu stole away the heart of the audience. The teachers, Remya and Simi also joined on stage to add to the thrill. The Parents, Ms. Anna Baby a Play back Singer and Mr. Anish Kumar M V came up with melodious performances. They were all ably assisted and guided by Mr. Sejo John and Team under whose guidance the Music Academy prospers. The cultural event blossomed with tiny tots dancing with zest and vitality which was followed by a skit named Kairalireeevam depicting the evolution of the Gods Own Country, Kerala to its present day. It highlighted the close family bonds, unity that was upheld in the society, the contributions of the farmers, the varied cultural traditions and how it survived the 2018 floods and the natural disasters like the landslide in Wayanad through unity and support. The cultural event came to an end by insisting on the need to nurture nature and be the warriors to protect it. The children distributed saplings to the audience as a symbolic gesture. The memories of the day will definitely be cherished in the hearts and minds of the children for days to come. The program came to a close with the presentation of the Annual Report by Fr. James Puthenparambil and the Vote of thanks by Fr. Jilson Erikattu.
